When you go to the big box electronics store to shop for a low-cost computer, you find the 20 year old kid working there that happens to be a gamer and he ends up recommending the fastest, most expensive computer that's in the store because that's what he uses when he plays online games. The problem with that is you may not be a gamer! Many of my in home and onsite computer clients use their computers for business, work or to just to surf the internet and check email. With those basic functions you wouldn’t notice any significant difference between a lower costing computer which fits your needs better than you would some big, gaming monster computer.

I talk to you! I find out what you're going to use a computer or tablet for and decide the best and lowest cost solution for you. Since I understand computers and tablets I know the minimum requirements for what you personally are going to do with a computer or tablet. I also know what warranties to get and which warranties not to get.

A standard question from any big box electronic store is would you like a security package with that? That makes sense. If you’re one of my shop and setup clients you've only spent $250 to $350 on a computer on the average. Still, it makes perfect sense to purchase a security package for the computer.

However, what these big box electronics stores don't tell you is Windows 8 and up comes with very good built-in antivirus software called Windows Defender. With all the shopping for computers I've done for my in home computer clients here on Oahu, I have never had a single big box electronic store representative say,

“Even though your computer comes with built-in antivirus software, would you like to purchase a Security package?”

Instead they act as though your computer has no protection whatsoever if you don't buy their Security package!

All computers last approximately three to five years no matter how expensive they are! What you’re paying for is not quality, but features. Without professional guidance, such as mine, you may pay for features you don’t need or even want!

Probably not enough considering I’m a trained dual certified teacher and have been in computer since 1993, but I want to help, so I charge $95.00 per hour. I charge one hour for shopping and consulting with the store computer geeks. I have the ability from years of in home computer tutoring to translate from and to English and Geekenese.

It usually takes me about three hours to setup a computer, remove unwanted, subscription based software and install or activate software I know of which can replace expensive antivirus software and Microsoft Office software.

The smile on my in home and onsite computer clients’ faces is almost payment enough when they see how efficient their computers are and how fast they can get to what they need thanks to my customization to cut down on clicks and things to remember.
