Aotearoa Surf School was founded in 2002 and was one of the founding surf schools in New Zealand. Aotearoa Surf is owned and operated by Che, a local surfer who has a devotion for all things related to the ocean. He has a passionate, experienced and qualified team of instructors from the local area who pride themselves on giving everyone the best experience and memories as possible.

PRIVATE SURF LESSONS

For those surfers or who really want to get the most from their time in the water then private lessons are the way to go. You’ll be amazed by how quickly you progress.

Available for individuals, couples, friends or larger groups who want their lesson exclusive! Suitable for all skill levels – absolute beginners, intermediates or more experienced surfers. Each lesson is 2 hours long, personally tailored to suit individual or group needs. Private lessons are available all year round, at times that are convenient for you.

TAILORED PROGRAMS FOR SCHOOLS

Programs aim to meet both school objectives and students’ needs. These include NCEA credits and Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) as well as school and youth camps. We even provide full schedule, packaged RAMS qualifications. Our school programs focus on teaching students core surfing skills, beach safety and awareness, and are guaranteed to leave a big smile on every face!

FITNESS: Radiate & Run

Our Surf Fitness class will focus upon basic fitness concepts, body strength, flexibility and balance, all of which are applied during surfing. We encourage all levels of fitness to join in and encourage individuals to train at a pace they feel comfortable. The environment will be a very positive, supportive one; we are all on a journey of healthier living together.

Tailored Stand Up Paddle Board Lessons Auckland NZ

Get out on the water with a sport designed with everyone in mind! Stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is safe, fun and easy and we will make sure you have a great experience. All lessons include the use of our fleet of Ocean & Earth Squeeze Boards and high end Surftec Balboas; these SUP boards are stable and easy to use no matter your skill level. You won’t get wet unless you jump in! All equipment provided by Aotearoa Surf.
