These beautiful shields take their name from the Bamileke people of Cameroon, and they come from an area known collectively as the Cameroon Grasslands. While these shields are no longer used in battle, they represent local rites and customs of the Bamileke tribe, and are used to to tell historic ancestry stories. These round shields are expressive sculptural art pieces that are favorites of decorators, designers and lovers of African Art. These would make a stunning addition to any space, especially paired with the smaller shield in this collection.

The lovely geometric patterns are assorted and selected randomly.

They are 22" in diameter, and with the stand about 24" high.
